If Life Hands You Lemons.......

10 x 20
oil on RayMar canvas on panel , framed
$300

This painting is from a photo taken by a friend on his trip to Italy.  He was standing at a fresh fruit market and thought these wonderful lemons were 'picture worthy'.  I agree!  The only thing is, I wish it had been ME standing at the fresh fruit market in ITALY!!

Quiet Cove

9 x 12
oil on RayMar canvas on panel
$200

I took this photo on a recent trip to Napa/Sonoma, CA..  San Francisco, not being far from Napa, made a wonderful 'side trip' from the wine country.  Here, I was standing on a very high cliff over San Francisco Bay, staring at the Golden Gate Bridge to my left and this quiet, gentle place to my right.  It was quite a contradiction of activity and lack thereof!  I think the California Coast is one of the most beautiful sights in all of these United States.  If you haven't already seen it, try to create the opportunity to do so.  It's a very special place.

Long Forgotten

12 x 16
oil on RayMar canvas on panel
$250 unframed, $300 framed

This amazing old car was spotted in a field behind a parking lot at an art gallery in Door County, WI..  It's rusted and battered and pretty old.  My wonderful cousin Bob, the 'car guy' gave me the following information re this beauty:  She's a 1949 Chevrolet StyleLiner Deluxe 4-door sedan and considered to be among the best looking GM products ever produced.

Apparently the 1949 Chevy's also received updated power with the arrival of the power-glide two-speed automatic, and Bob wants us to notice the "tiny lights on both sides of the impressive grille".  Duly noted!

Here's the best part:  The sticker price for the 1949 StyleLiner Deluxe was approximately between
$1,700 and $2,297 fully loaded!!!  Any 'guy' or 'gal' owning one of these beauties was considered really 'uptown' and the envy of many!!!

I'm pretty sure $1,700 might buy you a 'tiny light' of your own in this day-in-time...but that's about all!!!

Thank you Bob, for all your help with this and for reminding us of why we might miss 'the good ol' days'!

Laguna

5 x 7
oil on canvas board, framed
SOLD

This particular place in Laguna has been painted many, many times, in many, many ways, but I'm pretty sure NO ONE ELSE loves Laguna Beach as much as I do!!  Having lived there for several years, I truly miss it, but appreciate the opportunity to photograph it and paint some of my favorite places there.  More to come!

Strong and Gentle

20" x 24"
oil on canvas, framed
$500
As anyone who knows me will tell you, I have a huuuge heart for Humpback Whales.  They are such wonderful animals, so gigantic yet the females are such loving, caring mothers and so gentle.  Unless of course, it's mating season, then while the females are caring for the young, the males get a little frisky!  It's that competition thing!  I'm not sure whether the females like the attention or fear for their lives!!!

I apologize for the appearance of the lower right corner of the painting.  It doesn't appear that way on the painting and the top isn't yellow either.  It's all about the camera and the way it photographs the pigments in various lighting.  This painting is really much softer and definitely better blended than it appears here.  You'll have to trust me on this!!
