Long Forgotten

12 x 16
oil on RayMar canvas on panel
$250 unframed, $300 framed

This amazing old car was spotted in a field behind a parking lot at an art gallery in Door County, WI..  It's rusted and battered and pretty old.  My wonderful cousin Bob, the 'car guy' gave me the following information re this beauty:  She's a 1949 Chevrolet StyleLiner Deluxe 4-door sedan and considered to be among the best looking GM products ever produced.

Apparently the 1949 Chevy's also received updated power with the arrival of the power-glide two-speed automatic, and Bob wants us to notice the "tiny lights on both sides of the impressive grille".  Duly noted!

Here's the best part:  The sticker price for the 1949 StyleLiner Deluxe was approximately between
$1,700 and $2,297 fully loaded!!!  Any 'guy' or 'gal' owning one of these beauties was considered really 'uptown' and the envy of many!!!

I'm pretty sure $1,700 might buy you a 'tiny light' of your own in this day-in-time...but that's about all!!!

Thank you Bob, for all your help with this and for reminding us of why we might miss 'the good ol' days'!
